Selling my land in Thailand to my Thai wife
Now I own only one house, it's the house in Lom Sak.
On June 17, I sold the remaining half of my Lom Kao land and the house on it to my Thai wife for 170,000 baht.
I did a bit of a joke on YouTube, which is many farang say they bought land in Thailand in his Thai wife's name, and built a house on it, but later his Thai wife kicked him out. Where as for me, I sold my land and house to my Thai wife, even though many farang say they regard me as a 'farang who has Thai nationality', rather than a real Thai person. Well this 'farang', sold land he owned to his Thai wife, so at least I got something back from it, rather than just being kicked out.
In all seriousness, it's a relief to have sold that house because many of my wife's family members lived in there, including some non-blood relatives who don't work but want food for free, and they don't like me because I refused to buy them food
Some of my Thai friends agreed with me, I shouldn't have to take care of them, but some other Thai people said I 'should take care of them because it's Jai dee'.
Also, some of my wife's older family members thought they were in charge of my house because in Thai culture the older person is always right. They didn't like my "my house my rules" way of thinking.
So in reality, even though the remaining half of my Lom Kao land was in my name, it felt like it belonged to me on paper only.
My Lom Sak house has my style, and is a sanctuary I can keep all my collectables, and go to be some place quiet.
The Lom kao house is also 5 years old, made from cement and as people know, houses need maintenance, hence the walls have cracks, the ceiling has holes and the back of the house isn't even finished.
That's why many people don't want to buy a condo because you only have walls, floor and a ceiling around you, and they will deteriorate over time and you own no land to rebuild anything on.
I'll finish this blog showing the condition of my former Lom Kao house's interior, so I'm glad I sold it, but the land it's on will connect to the other land I gave to my wife for free, so the value of her land will increase much, plus the house is still livable.
I'll also show the front of my Lom Sak house and my vintage toys, anime and pop culture stuff and some of my game collection. I designed my Lom Sak house to look somewhat like a German village home.
